Nurturing the Foundation of a Joyful Life

At Golden Bridges School, early childhood is a time of wonder, exploration, and rhythm. We believe the early years should be protected and cherished, allowing young children to grow at their own pace within a warm, home-like environment that fosters imagination, creativity, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Early Childhood Program

Preschool & Kindergarten (ages 2.5-6)

With care, consistency, and reverence for childhood, we offer an environment where children feel safe, seen, and supported in becoming who they are.

A SOFT START TO SCHOOL LIFE

Our youngest students begin their school journey in a calm, home-like setting. Each day follows a gentle rhythm that helps children feel grounded and secure.

PLAY IS THE HEART OF LEARNING

Through self-directed imaginative play, oral storytelling, singing, baking, and handwork, children develop social, emotional, and physical confidence.

NATURE IS THE CLASSROOM

Children spend time outside every day, rain or shine. In McLaren Park or on our school farm, Hawk Creek Farm, nature is our guide and co-teacher.

TWO-YEAR, MIXED-AGE MODEL

A Waldorf-inspired approach to rhythm, imagination, and child development. Both Preschoolers & Kindergarteners begin as “Youngers”, then return as “Elders”. This mixed-age model gives children space to grow into confidence and leadership, while preparing for their journey to the Grades.

PREPARING FOR THE GRADES

Movement, painting, handwork, meal preparation, and rich language build strong foundations for writing, reading, and focused classroom learning, without rushing childhood.

WEEKLY FARM DAYS

Every week, children spend a full day learning on Hawk Creek Farm. They care for animals, harvest and prepare vegetables, and witness the rhythms of the natural world firsthand.

A PARENT’S REFLECTION

“The care and intention that the teachers bring to every detail of the day has helped our family slow down and find more meaning in the simple, beautiful moments.” - Golden Bridges School Parent
