SCHOOL CALENDAR & EVENTS
The rhythm of the year, held in celebration and community.
Golden Bridges School follows a yearly rhythm rooted in the seasons, the land, and the shared life of our community. Our calendar is shaped not only by academic cycles, but by the meaningful events and festivals that bring students, teachers, and families together in joy, reverence, and connection.
Seasonal Festivals & Celebrations
Our seasonal festivals and celebrations connect students with natural rhythms and school traditions while offering moments of reflection, celebration, and gathering.
Courage Festival
A festival of courage and harvest. Students gather to take part in obstacles and games or tasks that reflect inner and outer strength. Families are invited to mark the turning of the season together.
Día de los Muertos
A heartfelt and artistic exploration at Golden Bridges School, seamlessly blending cultural appreciation with our holistic approach. Students engage in meaningful activities, crafting vibrant altars adorned with marigolds and meaningful mementos, fostering a spirit of remembrance, creativity, and interconnectedness.
Lantern Walk
A quiet, glowing evening walk that celebrates the growing darkness of the season with light, song, and stillness. Students walk a lantern spiral on Hawk Creek Farm, accompanied by families and faculty.
Online Auction
Our Online Auction is filled with unique items and experiences. From gift certificates to restaurants and camps, to one-of-a-kind opportunities, there’s something for everyone. Every bid supports our Equitable Tuition Program, making this a fun and meaningful way to give back. Anyone can participate in the online auction!
Winter Market
Part fundraiser, part community gathering. Open to the public and full of handmade crafts, seasonal treats, student performances, and warmth.
Winter Spiral
Winter brings our Winter Spiral, our celebration of the winter solstice, where the community comes together with their ‘individual light’ to create a stronger collective glow. Children walk one-by-one into the center of the spiral crafted with natural elements such as evergreen branches, pine cones, and candles - to light a candle. As they leave the spiral, they must choose a location along the path to place their lit candle. With each child’s journey in and out of the spiral, the path becomes brighter. This experience creates a touching metaphor for the cumulative power of community.
Lunar New Year
A vibrant celebration of renewal and connection, honoring traditions that bring our community together. Through shared stories, festive gatherings, and symbolic rituals, students welcome the year ahead with gratitude and good fortune.
Spring Festival and Holi Celebration
Our Spring Festival leads us into the spring equinox with gratitude and relief for the increasing sunlight and earthly bounty. In between weaving flower crowns and a potluck picnic, the community will enjoy student song and dance performances and a school-wide celebration of the Hindu festival, Holi, a joyous festival of color, love, and spring.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day
An opportunity for students to share their learning and daily life with extended family and chosen loved ones. Visitors are invited into classrooms and performances and offered a glimpse into the rhythms of the school day.
Annual Auction
Our biggest fundraiser event of the year! This joyful evening includes food, music, and generous community support for the Equitable Tuition Program and daily operations of the school.
8th Grade Graduation
Our final gathering of the year honors our 8th grade graduates, and celebrates their growth through song, sharing, and gratitude.
