Dandelion - Fall 2020

Updated: August 8, 2020
Dandelion is interviewing several candidates to serve as co-teacher with Lainie Allpress. Once a teacher has been hired, we will determine whether or not Dandelion will open under the SFDPH childcare guidance, which differs from schools.  Current regulations would allow Dandelion to function with proper Health and Safety Guidelines with up to 12 children with 2 teachers.
If Dandelion opens in-person, we will operate 5-days a week at the farm and in McLaren Park from 8:30-1pm. Children will wear masks, practice social distancing (whenever possible), and follow other health and safety requirements including, but not limited to health checks and increased hand sanitation.
Children will bring their own snack and lunch.
Again, this decision will be determined once we have hired a co-teacher.

If Dandelion otherwise decides to follow the in-person/distance learning schedule of the greater school, Dandelion families will be welcomed to join the Kindergarten synchronous offerings and will receive asynchronous materials from their Dandelion teachers as well as additional one-on-one conference opportunities.
If Dandelion, as a stable cohort of students and teachers, is required to cease operations to an exposure or diagnosis for 14-days, there will be no synchronous (live) learning during that time. However, teachers will offer asynchronous materials and one-on-one support as needed.
